Abstract
The quantum group for the ZN model is studied from the braid group representation. The fundamental representation is constructed from the Weyl relation ZX= omega XZ with omega being an Nth root of unity. In the case of N=2 (the eight vertex model), the quantum group is shown to be a homomorphic image of the GLq(2) with q2=1.Keywords
