A chemical analysis of various tissues of the peach tree for their content of the cyanogenetic glycoside amygdalin has shown that the amount varies from none in the woody tissues to more than 50 milligrams per gram of dry tissue in some roots. The highest concentrations are found in the bark of the roots. Factors such as variety and season affect the amygdalin content.
