Abstract
The rate constant for the reaction N++NO was measured for center‐of‐mass collision energies from thermal to 2.5 eV. The measurements were made in a flow–drift tube apparatus in which the N+ ions were made by secondary reactions in the flow tube or were injected into the flow tube from a separate source. The measured rates were found to be in good agreement with previous room‐temperature measurements and with crossed beam data at 2.5 eV. An unexplained disagreement exists between the present results and the crossed beam data below 2.5 eV.Keywords
