Abstract
Many efforts to ascertain the basic factors responsible for the psoriatic syndrome have been recorded. Various hypotheses suggested deal with infection,1disorders of the nervous system,2endocrine dysfunction,3malfunction of the skin1and faulty lipid metabolism.4Recently the latter has received particular attention. Some investigators claim that a rise in the serum lipids is observed;5others reported decreases,6while still others stated that no definite variations are observed.7That such controversial findings should prevail is not beyond expectation.
