Abstract
The arthrographic findings in rheumatoid wrist joints are correlated with those in non-rheumatoid patients. Soft tissue abnormalities precede the subchondral bone changes seen on conventional roentgenography. A combination of two or more of the listed arthrographic abnormalities tends to confirm the diagnosis of rheumatoid arthritis. The arthrographic information has been useful in planning the extent of synovectomy. Surgical exploration in 15 cases confirmed the abnormalities demonstrated on the arthrogram. Keywords
