Abstract
A shell model calculation of stripping reduced widths of even parity and an analysis of a resonance found in the excitation function in the F19 (d, p)F20 reaction have been made under simplifying assumptions. A reasonable fit with experiment was obtained and it has been found that in the case of ln = 2, which is observed for low-lying levels in F20, agreement with experiment is satisfactory both in relative and in absolute values of the stripping reduced width and the modified multiplet model seems to be fairly valid. In the case of ln = 0, corresponding to higher excited levels in F20, the relative values were not well reproduced and a high degree of configuration mixing seems to be effective, since the sum rule gives a reasonable value of θ02(2s). The reaction data are consistent with the assignment of 2+ to the ground state of F20, derived from beta-decay evidences, and also with the statement by Schwartz with respect to a doublet of levels resulting from coupling of an s1/2-proton and the three-neutron configuration, (d5/23)5/2. Spin values are temporarily assigned to a few levels in F20.Keywords
