Abstract
Diffuse reflectance Fourier transform infrared spectra of coal diluted in two different alkali halide matrices were compared. Pure KBr and mixed CsI/KBr were tested for use as dilution matrices. When the variable of particle size was controlled, KBr was found to be the better diluent. Keywords
