Associated Resonance Production inπ−pInteractions at 6 BeV/c

Results are presented to show that resonance production occurs in a significant fraction (>50%) of the multipion final states with four or more outgoing pions. The data also indicate that the $\Delta \mathrm{}\left(1236\right)\mathrm{}$ nucleon isobar is normally associated with $\rho$ and $\omega$ mesons in production. A large proportion of the $\rho$ and $\omega$ mesons observed in the multipion final states are the decay products of higher mass enhancements ($A_1,A_2,B$).
