Abstract
This study was conducted to determine the genetically significantly dose (GSD) resulting from roentgen examinations in Turkey for 1977. GSD values between 50-750 .mu.Gy [gray] (5-75 mrad) had been reported for various countries. For the Turkish population, the GSD due to the roentgen examination in 1977 was 49.3 .mu.Gy (4.93 mrad). Estimated dose for Turkey was at the low end of the GSD range. The main reason for this was the frequency of roentgen examination in the country, which was 8%; in developed countries this frequency was .apprx. 100%.
