Frequency-time domain transmit power adaptation for multicarrier system in fading channels

Abstract
The optimal transmit power adaptation method to maximise the channel capacity of a multicarrier system is developed, and is found to be ‘water-pouring’ in the frequency-time domain. The results show that the channel capacity of a multicarrier system with the frequency-time domain power adaptation is slightly larger than that with the power adaptation in the frequency domain only.
