Abstract
To the Editor: Two letters published in the October 10, 1974, issue of the journal 1 , 2 report the effectiveness of deanol acetamidobenzoate (Deaner, Riker) in reducing tardive dyskinesia in three patients. Since the use of this drug for persistent abnormal motility has a sound theoretical basis, I made an effort to replicate the results of the two studies in 11 hospitalized patients. Their characteristics were as follows: four men and seven women, 40 to 73 years old, with an average age of 57.7, with dyskinesia of the mouth in 10, and in the extremities in eight, and postural disorder in two . . .
