Inguinal Herniorrhaphy

Abstract
A previously described technique for the repair of inguinal hernias is briefly reviewed. A series of 621 hernias were repaired by this technique. Five hundred and eighty-two (93.7%) have been followed up by personal examinations from one to 15 years after surgery. There have been four recurrences in three patients, a recurrence rate of 0.68%. Complications peculiar to this operation have been of minor significance and no postoperative deaths have occurred.
