Abstract
Experiments have been performed to develop test methods for the purpose of assessing fabric ignition characteristics with respect to the fabric burn injury potential. Thermophysical fabric properties relevant to the description of the ignition process are presented. Fabric ignition or melting times have been measured and are presented in non-dimensional form for radiative heating of desiccated fabrics. The significant fabric properties required to describe the ignition process and the probability of ignition under given exposure conditions are listed. Keywords
