Abstract
A synthetic basal diet supplemented with the known vits. allowed nearly normal growth of chicks up to 4 wks. Omission of individual B vits. caused typical deficiency symptoms and curves were constructed for the response in body wt. with dose of nicotinic acid, pyridoxin, riboflavin and pantothenic acid and hemoglobin response with folic acid. No criterion was found for biotin. The results obtained were interpretable statistically and the procedure used was satisfactory for assaying pure vit. prepns. Keywords
