Abstract
Dilemmas which beset those responsible for school hearing conservation programs are: Should a hearing loss of 10 decibels be used in screening programs to identify individuals with hearing loss or should all children undergo otolaryngology examinations to uncover both active and past ear pathology ? Should screening programs be concentrated on the lower grades or should all grades e screened every 2 or 3 years ? Literature relating to these questions is reviewed. It is concluded that the recommended 10 decibel level adequately fulfills the goals and responsibilities of conservation. This publication has 1 reference indexed in Scilit:
