Abstract
The magnetic susceptibility of TbAuCu4 has been measured between 4.2 and 400 K. The results are: TN=8 K, θp=26 K, and μeff=10.1 μB. Neutron diffraction experiments were performed on powder specimen at temperatures, 4.2–20 K and 77 K. The magnetic spin structure was determined to be similar to that of MnO; the magnetic moments align ferromagnetically in sheets parallel to the (111) plane with adjacent sheets coupled antiferromagnetically. The magnetic moments are directed parallel to the (111) plane. The magnetic moment per Tb ion is obtained to be 8.9 μB.This publication has 8 references indexed in Scilit:
