Abstract
The posterior silk gland of silkworm,
Bombyx mori
, L., contains two major tRNA

species. Only one species can be formylated with N

-formyltetrahydrofolate using
Escherichia coli
enzyme. The product has been identified as N-formyl-methionyl-tRNA.
