Abstract
The carbohydrate sources were fructose, glucose, lactose, sucrose, starch or pectin. M. pusillus produced greater amounts of mycelial dry weight than M. miehei at the incubation period of peak growth in media containing fructose, glucose, lactose, sucrose, or starch. Sucrose did not support growth until the 9th day in M. pusillus and did not support growth in M. miehei during the 18 day incubation period. Both organisms grow well when incubated in media with simple sugars, starch or pectin as sole carbohydrate sources. This publication has 2 references indexed in Scilit:
