Abstract
Observa-tions on 476 adult Australian aboriginal skulls of known sex. Most of the observed exostoses were placed posteriorly near the lateral end of the bony meatus. The relationship of these findings to theories of the etiology of these growths is discussed. It is suggested that two types of aural exostosis occur that may differ in etiology. Keywords
