Abstract
Summary: Data on the productivity and changes in number of plants were collected from plots receiving early, late and no burn treatments. It is argued that late rather than early burn promoted dry‐matter production and stimulated growth and increase in numbers of most species in the Hyparrhenia‐Themeda grassland. No burn caused deterioration in the species composition and productivity of the grassland but encouraged establishment of shrubs. This publication has 12 references indexed in Scilit:
