Abstract
The temp. change of skin, suddenly heated or cooled, is subject to the physical laws of heat conduction and heat transfer. Calculations reveal the temp. increase upon application of non- penetrating constant heat, penetrating radiant heat, Newtonian and contact heat, and heating through a protective layer. The temp. fall after heat application can also be predicted. Causation of burns is subject to a law of rate processes and can be predicted from the temp. curves. Formulas and 8 graphs describe the change of temp. with time and depth. Keywords
