Abstract
Paramagnetic-resonance absorption was observed in the metastable state , of Ca: which was populated by an optical source. The measured value of 1.453±0.002 can be compared with the calculated value of (-) 1.478. The discrepancy of 0.025 is the same as found for the ground state. From the hyperfine constant for two values of , a core-polarization correction of (+) 14±3 Mc/sec is derived for the ground state.
