Kinetin is shown to inhibit the synthesis of chlorophyll in light while causing expansion of isolated cotyledons of Cucumis. The inhibitory effect is more marked at higher concentrations of kinetin. It has been suggested that specific kinins may be involved in different tissues for stimulating chlorophyll synthesis.
