Abstract
Two cases of bronchial carcinoma with oesophageal involvement arepresented. Both were treated by simultaneous pneumonectomy andoesophagectomy. The postoperative course of each patient was complicated bysecondary infection of the pneumonectomy space. One patient expired from arecurrent intratracheal tumour on the 83rd postoperative day and the otherremains tumour free 3 years after treatment. As few therapeuticalternatives exist for non small cell bronchial carcinoma, primary radicalsurgical treatment should be considered, even in advanced cases where thetumour invades the oesophagus. Keywords
