Abstract
We describe a rare case of chromoblastomycosis of the maxillary sinus. Biopsy specimens from the sinus have characteristic features under light microscopy. The prognosis after appropriate treatment is good and involved surgical excision for primary-stage infection and chemotherapy with amphotericin B and 5-fluorocytosine for advanced-stage disease. The clinical possibility of severe fungal infection in the head and neck region is discussed. This publication has 8 references indexed in Scilit:
