Abstract
Fer's infinite-product expansion (1958) is reconsidered and applied to the specific case of the time-displacement operator in quantum mechanics. An alternative version of this expansion due to Wilcox is also discussed and found to be quite different from the original one. In general the latter is expected to possess better convergence properties. Keywords
