Abstract
Summary: From data obtained using the fluorescent antibody technique of Coons and Kaplan it appeared that the influenza virus could be phagocytosed by human and rabbit leucocytes in vitro. It is believed that the virus was first adsorbed to the leucocyte following which penetration into the cell occurred. The reaction of phagocytosis was markedly enhanced by the presence of immune serum and by leucocytes from immune animals. Keywords
