Abstract
To the Editor: In his recent review (N Engl J Med 293:280–285)Dr. Shand suggested that the importance of hypoglycemia associated with propranolol therapy had been exaggerated, except in insulin-treated diabetic patients. A recent literature search by us suggests, however, that hypoglycemia associated with propranolol therapy is not limited to diabetic patients. We obtained all English-language references to "Propranolol and Hypoglycemia" in MEDLARS through July 31, 1975. Reports of 15 cases were found.
