Abstract
The uptake of I131 by the thyroid was normal in 14 of 15 leukemic patients, 10 of whom had increases in basal metabolic rate. It is concluded that the thyroid gland does not participate in the elevation of the basal metabolic rate in patients with leukemia. Keywords
