Abstract
U wire samples under very high confining gas pressures are heated Ohmically into the liquid phase. The sample diameter is measured after achievement of thermodynamic equilibrium. Enthalpy-volume isobars and resistivity-enthalpy curves are obtained. The data are fitted with a soft-sphere theory of liquids, and the critical point of U is estimated. Keywords
