Abstract
An acute and fatal illness is described in a youth, characterized initially by a skin rash that faded, fever, toxemia, conspicuous lymphadenopathy, oral ulceration and evidence of general involvement of the lymphoreticular system. The lymph-node reaction was purely sinus in origin involving histiocytes with a conspicuous extension of the histiocytic sinus reaction to the capsule and afferent lymphatic system with the formation of new reticulin-outlined sinus systems. The latter features have not been previously described. The skin reaction was less specific.
