Abstract
The report describes studies completed or in progress within all three phases of a program of research on social and psychological factors in human stress. It lists six major substantive propositions and three key sets of methodological issues which were induced from integrative studies of Phase I. These nine issues provide the guiding concepts for a set of six empirical and theoretical studies initiated in Phase II. Each study is described in summary form. Phase III focussed on a field test of a model of stress, a reformulation of the model based on results of the field study, and several further studies designed to test the reformulated model. Keywords
