Abstract
The necessary conditions appertaining to the axial internal field profile in single-crystal ferrimagnetics for the realisation of an intrinsic 2-port magnetoelastic delay line are stated. Suitable profiles obtain from a cylindrical yttrium-iron-garnet (y.i.g) rod symmetrically loaded with polycrystalline y.i.g. sleeves. S band room-temperature experiments on 2-port delay-field spectra are described, which support the basic principles. Keywords
