Abstract
The principal objective of this study is the evaluation of the potentiality of the low spatial resolution and high temporal resolution images, such as the images scanned by the AVHRR sensor of the NOAA-9 satellite. These imagesare used for detection of forest fire in areas prone to be affected and for determining physiological conditions of vegetationcover during the year, in order that we can as certain the conditions under which such cover is most susceptible to fire. Keywords
