Correlation between superconductivity and optical excitations

Abstract

A series of reflectivity measurements on

{La}_{2 - x} {Sr}_{x} Cu O_{4}

ceramics indicates a correlation between the concentration of positive carriers and both the spectral weight of optical excitations below 1 eV and the occurrence of superconductivity.
