Abstract
When sprays of Erad (phenyl mercury acetate) were applied to apple foliage the mercury moved in and from the foliage mainly by translocation rather than by volatilization. It moved to growing fruit and new foliage but there was no uptake through roots.Residues of mercury were found almost entirely in the top 2 inches of the soil in apple orchards sprayed with Erad. Keywords
