Abstract
A crystalline antibiotic produced by Streptomyces lydicus has been isolated and shown to be the hitherto unknown αa-dehydrobiotin (I). This is active against a variety of grampositive and gram-negative bacteria and fungi. Its antimicrobial activity is reversed by the presence of biotin in growth media. This publication has 2 references indexed in Scilit:
