Abstract
When matter is bombarded by very high-energy nucleons, over 600 Mev in the laboratory system, part of the pions produced may be decay products of excited nucleons of ordinary spin and isobaric spin ("baryons") produced by the incident nucleons. Assuming charge independence, we discuss the ratios of the cross sections for various possible processes creating one or more pions.
