Abstract
Magnetic field probes occupying less than 10−8 cc and having axially symmetric response have been developed for use at liquid nitrogen temperatures and below. The probes are made by drawing a microscopic boule of bismuth from the melt, using a wire which ultimately serves as a pair of leads at one end. A second wire is fused to the other end by ohmic heating. Keywords
