In Vivo Magnetic Resonance Microscopy of Changing Water Content in Pelargonium hortorum Roots

Abstract
Magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) was used to nondestructively observe changes in water content in roots of Pelargonium hortorum × Bailey during a period of relatively rapid transpiration. Anatomical regions of the root could be differentiated with a spatial resolution of 0.1 × 0.1 mm. MRI shows great potential for study of plant-water relations.
