Abstract
The finite-width parallel-plate waveguide is a useful tool as an EMP simulator, and its characteristics have recently been investigated by a number of workers. In this paper, we report the results of a study of the modal fields in such a waveguide. Once these modal fields and their corresponding wavenumbers are known, the problem of source excitation in such a waveguide can be solved, at least approximately, using the so-called leaky-wave concept. Keywords
