Abstract
A case of coexisting dementia and depression is described. The diagnostic problem is discussed in detail, with special emphasis on the usefulness of the sodium amytal interview in establishing the existence of depression. The patient was treated with a course of ECT (electroconvulsive therapy), with significant lifting of her depression and improvement in behavior despite the persistence of dementia. This publication has 0 references indexed in Scilit:
