Abstract
Thyroid function was studied in 11 patients with the idiopathic edema syndrome. Six patients were shown to have subclinical hypothyroidism associated with the presence of thyroid antibodies. All responded to treatment with sodium thyroxine. Five patients had normal thyroid function, absence of thyroid antibodies and failed to respond to treatment with sodium thyroxine. This publication has 5 references indexed in Scilit:
