Properties of InterferonsFrom a survey of the different systems for the production of interferon, it is evident that so far these have mostly yielded crude and unpurified preparations. They frequently contain the complex constituents of tissue-culture medium or tissue fluids, which may be depleted or altered by products of normal cell metabolism and degeneration.
