Abstract
We show that, under suitable conditions, the dynamics of crystal dislocations in the presence of acoustic fields can lead to chaotic behavior. We suggest experiments involving the motion of straight dislocation segments against Peierls‐Nabarro forces and the optical modes of partials and discuss the detection of the turbulent regime. Keywords
