Abstract
Two cases of overdose occurred with illicit use of methadone hydrochloride, intravenously injected. Pulmonary edema, myoglobinuria, and acute renal failure were prominent in these patients. They had injected themselves with pure methadone, which suggests that the overdose syndrome is caused by the narcotic itself and not by toxic diluents. Keywords
