Abstract
The shoots of M. glyptostroboides are of 2 kinds, "long" and "short." Long shoots are found at the ends of more rapidly growing branches and at the tip of the vertical axis where the decussate phyllotaxy is most apparent. Short shoots usually tend to lie horizontally. The decussate arrangement is apparent in the terminal bud, but as the leaf pairs enlarge, their nodes twist so as to bring the leaf bases into a plane parallel to the ground. Alternating nodes rotate in opposite directions with a twist of about 75[degree] between successive nodes. There is no continuous spiral. This publication has 1 reference indexed in Scilit:
