Abstract
Results are reported of 30 mineral balance trials in which the intake and utilisation of calcium, phosphorus, and magnesium have been examined with young growing sheep fed on diets containing white clover (WC) and perenmal ryegrass (PRG). Mean availabilities of each element were: Ca 26%, P 10%, and Mg 36%. The calculated daily maintenance requirements for young growing sheep weighing 20 to 30 kg were: Ca 2.9 g, P 2.1 g, and Mg 1.4 g. The results obtained in this experiment are discussed in relation to other published results. Keywords
