Abstract
A study of magnetic and structural properties of ( Co x Fe 100−x ) 50 (0≦x≦100) alloy thin films as functions of composition and substrate deposition-temperature T s is carried out. The intrinsic perpendicular magnetic anisotropy K u starts to increase with deposition temperature T s for all the films (0≦x≦100) at about T S =250–300 ° C , and then becomes nearly constant. The maximum values of K u at room temperature thus obtained are 6×10 7 , 4×10 7 , and 2×10 7 erg/cc for Fe 50 Pt 50 , (Co 43 Fe 57 ) 50 Pt 50 and Co 50 Pt 50 , respectively. Also, the K u of Fe 50 Pt 50 films increases with the order parameter (S), being closely related with the tetragonality c/a. These results indicate that the evolution of K u is due to the occurrence of the ordered fct phase. This publication has 10 references indexed in Scilit:
