The Spectrum of Neutral Tungsten, W I

Abstract
An analysis of the W I spectrum has yielded 300 levels, of which 201 have been given tentative magnetic g values. Configurations, as well as L and S values, have been assigned to the 65 levels 5d46s2D5H3GFDP, 5d56sS7,5G5, 5d46s(D6)7sD7,5, 5d46s(D6)6pFDP7,5 with 18 definite ambiguities due to a mixing of eigenfunctions. All the low levels are believed to be known. The ionization potential is (7.94±0.1) volts. A rectangular array of the transitions is given.
